We have met with the Wilmington Board of health officials as well as our venue early this week to finalize the Covid safety protocols for our event on Sunday.

There is currently not a mask mandate in the town of Wimington, and we will follow that directive. However we are also mindful of the CDC updated recommendation that everyone in areas of substantial or high transmission wear a mask even if fully vaccinated.

The safety of the dancers and their families and our staff is our utmost priority and we want to make sure that everyone has a great day and feels safe! We are fortunate to have a MASSIVE open area venue that allows for good social distancing, and we have also planned for additional seating this year and spaced out or dancing areas a bit more. For example we will have ALL dancers dance two at a time regardless of age, and our stages are larger than required. Also, all stages as well as other areas in the venue will be stocked with sanitizing supplies.

As per the guidelines above, dancers are not required to wear masks while dancing, however we encourage them to do whatever makes them most comfortable. Finally, we ask all to be vigilant about their own safety and please do not hesitate to bring to our attention any concerns that they see during the day. Please look for a feis staff member and we will address issues immediately. It is important to note that many of the younger dancers attending on Sunday are not yet eligible for the vaccine: It is our priority to provide for their health and safety as well as all those in attendance.
